This week, I have been cutting panels to fit behind the seats, to close off the bootspace from the cockpit. The old panels were very rough with some speaker grilles fitted into them, so out they came. I've been able to make the panels removable by fitting rivnuts into them, so if I ever need access to remove the fuel tank I should be OK. I'll post some pictures up over the weekend.

I haven't posted anything on here for a while, but I have been working on the car over Christmas and new year. I bought some aluminium sheet to cut new panels for the transmission tunnel, and a rivnut setter to fit them using stainless steel allen keys bolts. Below are the fitted panels, still covered in protective film.

I also removed the dashboard and tidied up some scruffy wiring, at which point the fuel hose attached to the swirl pot decided to rupture and drip fuel down onto the chassis and under the car. No damage done and it gave me the chance to renew the hose which looked a bit tired.

This evening I started cutting some paper patterns for the panelling between the seats and the boot. This could be a tricky job as I'm hoping to curve the panels round to the back edges of the door openings. My initial patterns, taped in place, are in the picture above.

If you're reading Pete, hope you're doing OK mate :o)
